Rowdy Rathore is an upcoming Bollywood action film directed by Prabhudheva and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ronnie Screwvala. The film features Akshay Kumar, opposite Sonakshi Sinha. It began filming on 10 August 2011, and is scheduled for release on 15 June, 2012.The film is a remake of Telugu film Vikramarkudu which was originally directed by S S Rajamouli and stars Ravi Teja and Anushka Shetty.The music of the film is directed by Jeet Gannguli.

Rowdy Rathore Story:

Rowdy (Akshay Kumar) is a small-time thief and crook who is crazy about acts of daredevilry. One day, he gets the shock of his life when a young girl turns up and claims him to be her father.

After recovering from the stunning blow, he slowly starts to find out the truth behind the claim. It turns out that the girl is the daughter of IPS Police officer Vikram Singh Rathore (also Akshay Kumar).

Vikram is the long-lost twin of Rowdy. After the two meet, in an excitement shock, Vikram Rathore is confronted by underworld-gangsters who then murder him right infront of Rowdy, and therefore Rowdy has to fill into Vikram's position in the police force aswell as his home, and find out who his murderers' were and why they killed him.

Other than the film she has, we have heard from sources that Karisma will also be seen doing an item number and that too for Akshay Kumar starrer Rowdy Rathore.

Sources from town say that the item number has been designed keeping in with the latest trend of Munni, Sheila and Chikni Chameli. Following these, the song will also have a 'desi' tune. And the cherry on the cake is that the song will be choreographed by Rowdy Rathore director Prabhu Devaa. The villain Nasser and hero Akshay Kumar will also be a part of the song.

Mirror has learnt that Karisma, known for her dancing prowess is all set to scorch the screen in an item number in Rowdy Rathore.

Actor Akshay Kumar, who will be seen in a full-fledged action film 'Rowdy Rathore' after almost seven years, says he feels like a newcomer and is very excited about getting into the action mode again."There is a lot of excitement. After seven years I am again doing action. It was because of action that I came into this industry and again I am getting a chance to do action. I am feeling as if I am a newcomer who will be doing action for the first time after seven years," the 44-year-old said at the launch 'Rowdy Rathore' promo.

"I started my career with action. So, action is always going to be very close to my heart. It is in me and that is all I am going to keep doing to do this till the day I die," added the 44-year-old who was seen in actioners like 'Khiladi', 'Mohra' and 'Sangharsh'.

Supreeth: Noted Telugu villain Supreeth, who is popularly known as ‘Katraj’ (the character name he played in Chatrapathi), is making Bollywood debut. He is roped in as the villain in Rowdy Rathore movie starring Akshay Kumar.

This film is a remake of Rajamouli – Raviteja movie Vikramarkudu. Prabhu Deva is directing this film. He is the one who suggested Supreeth’s name as the villain to producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Supreeth thanked Prabhu and stated that he would try his best to do justice to the role.
